Swine Flu Update
Got Flu? Stay at Home
If you experience a sudden fever, cough, headache, sore throat, tiredness, aching muscles, chills, sneezing, runny nose, diarrhoea or vomiting, you may have swine flu.
For most people this is a mild illness and you should start to feel better after a few dyas without needing to go to your GP or A&E.
Help yourself and others by not spreading the virus.
The best thing you can do is stay at home, rest, drink plenty of fluids and take over-the-counter flu remedies to help relieve the symptoms.
Summary
1. If you feel very unwell
- Check your symptoms online at www.direct.gov.uk/pandemicflu or call the Swine Flu Information Line on 0800 1 513 513
2. Still concerned?
- If you have taken these steps and are still concerned call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 or your GP for more advice
3. Please do not go to A&E
- Unless you are seriously ill
Important – It is really important that you call your doctor if you think you have swine flu, and:
- Are pregnant
- Aged 65 or over
- Have a long-term condition such as diabetes or heart disease
- Have a child under the age of five showing symptoms

It has almost been a year since we started discussing and drafting initial ideas. From first thoughts to first actions we are ready to share the journey with you. The Good the bad and the downright ugly! Come along to our next up-date meeting where you can hear about and contribute to the next steps in this exciting and challenging undertaking. Please join us at our next quarterly forum session that will be held on June 30th at Vision Point, Vaughan Trading Estate, Sedgley Road East, Tipton, DY 4 7UJ from 10:00 - 13:00.
