The work We do

The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is your opportunity to be involved in the day-to-day aspects of the running of the practice, which directly involves 'us' - the patients.

Also, we have the opportunity to have input to the planning of future developments whihc hopefully will have benefits to all who work in or attend the surgeries.

We are quite an informal group, although we do sign an agreement of confidentiality upon joining.

We have found since our inaugeration that everyone including the doctors are very cooperative and give due weight to our opinions.

How to Join the Group

If you feel you could contribute to the group, ask at reception for an application form?

We would particularly like younger people and those from ethnic minorities to balance our team.

The Group meet on the first Thursday of each month in the conference room at The Smethwick Medical Centre from 4.00pm – 5.30pm.

Meetings are fairly informal, and fun, and have already greatly contributed to the improvements in the practices.

Patient Newsletter

Included in the Newsletters are articles on:

Your PPG have made great strides over the last few months and helped shape some changes to the way the practice works. They work in very close harmony with the doctors’ and managers’, in their ambitions to improve the practice.

If you have any ideas that may help improve the service offered by the Practice please put them into one of the Suggestions Boxes located on the PPG notice boards in the foyer at Smethwick and the waiting room at Hollybush.

If you would like a response, please add your name and a contact telephone number. Suggestion forms are available from reception at either surgery.
